The OpenDXM GlobalX SAP integration enables a structured and automated export process directly from SAP. Users select complete product structures, documents, or multiple files within SAP and assign them to an OpenDXM GlobalX Collection (object type Folder).

Predefined filters and user-specific settings determine which data is included in the exchange. The SAP Connector executes batch-based export jobs, converting the selected data into a structured, file-based format for external exchange.

Real-time status feedback and detailed job logging ensure full transparency. Optional metadata files enrich the exchange with additional context. Recipients access the ZIP-packaged data through the OpenDXM GlobalX  web application - ensuring secure, consistent, and traceable data exchange.

The roundtrip process enables controlled bidirectional exchange of CAD and product data between SAP environments while preserving data integrity.

After exporting product structures, CAD models, and documents, the data is modified by the recipient and sent back. During re-import, the SAP CATIA V5 Import Module analyzes the returned package:

  • new objects are created automatically
  • unchanged objects are ignored
  • modified files are updated while preserving relationships

Validation mechanisms compare incoming data with existing SAP records. If inconsistencies are detected, users are notified for manual review or automated conflict resolution. This ensures efficient collaboration with full traceability across enterprise and engineering domains.
